⇢ABOUT
The Sleepy Sleepers, also known as Sleeparit, are a Finnish rock group founded in the mid-1970s. Famous for their outrageous humor, provocative lyrics, and unpredictable stage antics, they quickly earned a reputation as one of Finland’s most controversial and entertaining bands. Mixing rock ’n’ roll with sharp political and social satire, they often stirred up debate and even faced bans from radio and television. Despite — or perhaps because of — this notoriety, they gained a loyal following and became a true cult act.
The band also played a key role in Finnish music history by giving birth to the Leningrad Cowboys, who carried on their mix of parody, spectacle, and larger-than-life rock energy to international fame.
